Final Airline Passenger Rights Rule Responds to Many Users’ Concerns

DOT has announced its final decision on a new airline passenger rights rule. Comments from Regulation Room users, submitted last summer, are mentioned in DOT’s discussion of almost 20 different sections of the new rule. For example, in the section on Full Fare Advertising, DOT states how comments on Regulation Room influenced its decision to require clearer information in fare advertising, even though comments from airline companies had opposed this change. This is a great example of how ordinary people can have as much voice as business interests in government decisions about new regulations.
